„If I could tell you what it meant, there would be no point dancing it.“ (Isadora Duncan) — Tanzende Pandas, singende Tänzer:innen, choreografierte Objekte und immer wieder Sitzkissen auf der Tribüne: Am Unterwandern von Erwartungshaltungen haben Unusual Symptoms am Theater Bremen seit jeher großen Spaß. Lustvoll, spielerisch und mit Augenzwinkern, aber auch zärtlich, dann wieder kraftvoll und laut sind die Arbeiten, die stets in Ko-Kreation zwischen Ensemble, Choreograf:innen und künstlerischen Teams entstehen. Mit welcher Produktion Unusual Symptoms diese Spielzeit, die zugleich den Abschluss einer Intendanz markiert, beenden, sei an dieser Stelle noch nicht verraten. Denn gelingen die schönsten Überraschungen nicht immer dann, wenn man sich vorher nicht in die Karten blicken lässt?

“If I could tell you what it meant, there would be no point dancing it.” (Isadora Duncan) — Dancing pandas, singing dancers, choreographed objects and cushions over cushions on the gallery: Thwarting expectations is something that Unusual Symptoms have always delighted in at Theater Bremen. Full of relish, playful and with a wink, still tender, then again loud and with force, these are the works that always emerge in co-creation between ensemble, choreographer, and the artistic teams. We will, at this time, not yet unveil the production with which Unusual Symptoms are going to close this season that also marks the end of a tenure for the house’s artistic direction. Are the best surprises not the ones where you could not get a glimpse beforehand?
